A STEP-BY-STEP ACTION PLAN
You know you’re ready to start taking on work of your own. You have a business name in mind, arrangements you want to create and venues you’d love to contact.
The harder part is knowing what needs to be in place before you start taking bookings - what products and services to offer, how someone will enquire or what happens when they do.
Start a Floristry Business in 30 Days is a self-paced program that takes you through one practical action each day, so you can start showing your designs, receiving enquiries and taking on paid floristry work of your own.
Thirty days from now, you could have the beginning stages of your business behind you. What are you waiting for?

FROM ONE DAY TO OPEN FOR BUSINESS
Registration, banking, insurance, tools, workspace.
Suppliers, flowers, three arrangements, portfolio.
Social presence, enquiry form, announcing the business.
Offers, content, onboarding, selling.
YOUR DAILY OPERATING SYSTEM
Each day follows the same operating loop: see the action, understand what it requires, schedule the work, complete it, track it, then move to the next one.
The complete sequence of what you’ll work on and when. Your 30 actions are mapped across Finance, Legal & Insurance, Equipment, Product, Design, Marketing, Sales and Customer Service. The Roadmap gives you a birds eye view so you can see what needs your attention each day, what’s coming later in the month, and how the work builds from initial setup through to putting the business in front of potential clients.
The context you need to understand each action before you take it. Each morning, you’ll receive a short voice note explaining what you’re working on that day, why it matters at this stage of the business, and what to consider as you complete it. Over the month, you’re learning the reasoning behind the setup as you do the work - building the judgement you’ll continue using long after Day 30.
A ready-to-use Notion planner for programming and tracking the 30 days. Set your start date, schedule larger actions around your availability, see what’s coming up, capture notes and decisions, and mark each action complete. It gives you a live view of what’s done, what’s underway and what’s coming next, so you can keep moving throughout the month.
Bree is a floral designer, business coach and founder of Melbourne creative studio April & Fritz.
A former Google program manager, Bree spent five years working across London, Singapore and Melbourne before leaving big tech to pursue her passion for floral design.
Bree's coaching sits at the intersection of creativity and commercial thinking, with a particular focus on how creative women build businesses that are as considered commercially as they are creatively.
A Taurus, oat latte drinker, and frequent flyer, Bree shares her life with Rob in Melbourne, Australia, splitting her time between designing, writing for The Tall Poppy, hosting her podcast Cultivate, and working with private floristry clients.
This is for aspiring florists who want to set up a business around their floristry skills. You may still be studying, practising independently, making flowers for friends and family, or working for another florist, with the goal of building a side hustle, taking on a small number of your own bookings, or eventually creating a full-time floristry business.
You complete one action per day across one of the following categories: Finance, Legal and Insurance, Equipment, Product, Design, Marketing, Sales and Customer Service. You will refer to the 30-Day Roadmap to see the complete plan, listen to the Daily Voice Notes for guidance on the daily tasks and use your Notion Start-Up Workspace to manage and track your progress. Together, they take you through the practical steps of setting up your floristry business, so that by the end of the 30 days, you’ve laid the foundations to begin operating and taking on work.
It varies by task. Some actions will take around 15–30 minutes, while larger tasks such as visiting suppliers, creating and photographing portfolio work, or setting up business accounts will take longer. The 30-Day Roadmap shows you what’s coming across the full month, so you can see the larger tasks in advance and plan them around your existing schedule. You can move at your own pace, but this program is designed for those who are ready to follow through on the work. The value comes from completing the actions, making the decisions and continuing through the sequence.
No. It's recommended that you be actively learning or practising floristry, as you will be required to create three starter portfolio pieces based on your current skills, then photograph and document them to begin sharing your work. However, you do not need formal qualifications or professional experience to complete the program.
Please note: This program teaches you how to start a business around your floristry skills; it does not teach floristry techniques.
By the end of the 30 days, you’ll have the foundations in place to start putting your floristry business in front of people and taking on your own enquiries. You’ll have:
- The essential business setup including registration, banking and insurance.
- Work you can confidently show potential clients
- A clear starter offer you can begin promoting
- A way for people to find you, contact you and enquire
- Suppliers and equipment organised so you can fulfil the work requests
- A basic process for responding to enquiries and onboarding clients
- Your first promotional and outreach activity underway
No. The program is designed to help you set up the business and start putting yourself in a position to receive enquiries and take on paid work. Whether you book paying clients within the 30 days will depend on factors such as your market, the work you’re offering, your pricing, how visible you are, and how consistently you keep promoting the business.
You can continue from where you left off. The 30-day structure is there to give you the correct sequence and a practical pace, not to force you into 30 consecutive days. If you miss a day, complete that task when you can and then move on to the next one. If a larger task takes more than a day, finish it before progressing. The important thing is to follow the order of the plan rather than the exact calendar.
It takes time to work out which information online applies, what matters most in these early stages, what order to do things in, and what can wait. This program removes a portion of the research, filtering and decision-making for you. You follow a florist-specific sequence that has already been prioritised, so your time goes into setting up the business rather than figuring out how to set up the business.
There is no fixed additional spend. Your costs will depend on what you already own, local requirements, and decisions you make as you work through the 30 days. You may choose to spend on registration, insurance, tools, flowers, vases or other materials. The program helps you identify what is relevant, but you remain responsible for the financial decisions you make throughout the process. Learning to make those financial decisions is part of building the business itself.
It is self-paced. You can begin whenever you are ready and work through the actions in order from Day 1. The 30-day structure gives you a recommended pace, but there is no cohort start date or requirement to complete the program by a certain date.
You’ll have lifetime access to the 30-Day Roadmap, Notion Start-Up Workspace and Daily Voice Notes, so you can return to the material whenever you need to as your business develops.
No problem. The program gives you the structure, context and guidance for each stage, while you remain responsible for completing the actions, making decisions and researching anything specific to your location or circumstances. The daily coaching is there to reduce unnecessary research and decision-making without removing your responsibility for the business itself.
THE NEXT 30 DAYS WILL PASS NO MATTER WHAT
Thirty days from now you could be set up, have work ready to show, a clear way for people to enquire, and the first version of your business out in the world.
The only difference is whether the next month is spent preparing to get started or actually starting.
Upon submission, you’ll be redirected to your Client Portal. Sign in using the email address provided above, and please do not refresh or close the page while you’re being redirected.
